Why Membership?

The Santa Bárbara Mission-Archive Library is a non-profit historical and educational institution dependent on donations, grants, and membership dues to cover conservation, staffing, and operation expenses. You can support our work by becoming a member.

 

How to Join

To become a member, please complete and submit a membership form. You may follow the link at the bottom of the form to remit payment or pay by mail. Membership starts at $35 per year. Students with a valid student I.D. from an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution are eligible for a student membership at $15 per year. 

 

Benefits of Membership

Members at all levels have access to use our collections for research purposes, will receive invitation to our events, and discounts on our services and some merchandise.

 

Members at the $60 level and above are entitled to bring one supplemental researcher to accompany them on their visits and assist them on the same research project.

 

Most importantly, all members will have the satisfaction of knowing that your support is vital to maintaining this wealth of historical data for the benefit of scholars, researchers, and the general public.

 

All researchers who wish to access our collections are required to be members of the of the Santa Bárbara Mission-Archive Library. Please contact us at research@sbmal.org directly if you have any questions.

 

The Santa Bárbara Mission Archive-Library is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization (Federal Tax ID# 95-6220730). Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

SBMAL is open to researchers by appointment only. Some collections remain closed so please confirm access to a specific collection when scheduling your appointment.
