Why Membership?
The Santa Bárbara Mission-Archive Library as a non-profit historical and educational institution depends on donations, grants, and membership dues to cover conservation, staffing, and operation expenses. You support our work by becoming a member.
How to Join
Membership starts at $35 per year. Students with a valid student I.D. from an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution are eligible for a student membership at $15 per year. Select a membership level from the options at the bottom of this page, then checkout online with a credit card. If you prefer, you may pay by check (made out to "SBMAL") and bring it with you to your appointment or mail it to:

Benefits of Membership
Members at all levels can access our collections for research purposes, receive invitation to our events and discounts on our services and some merchandise.
Members at the $60 level and above are entitled to bring one additional researcher to accompany them on their visits and assist them on the same research project.
Most importantly, all members can have the satisfaction of knowing that your support is vital to maintaining this wealth of historical data for the benefit of scholars, researchers, and the general public.
