Membership at the Archive-Library

Why Membership?

The Santa Bárbara Mission-Archive Library is a non-profit historical and educational institution dependent on donations, grants, and membership dues to cover conservation, staffing, and operation expenses. You can support our work by becoming a member.

 

How to Join

To become a member, please complete and submit a membership form with your payment. Membership starts at $35 per year. Students with a valid student I.D. from an accredited undergraduate or graduate institution are eligible for a student membership at $15 per year. You may also visit our online store to complete payment for your membership. 

 

Benefits of Membership

Members at all levels have access to use our collections for research purposes, will receive invitation to our events, our electronic newsletter La Gaceta, and discounts on our services and some merchandise.

 

Members at the $60 level and above will also receive the SBMAL publication ($12.00 value), and are entitled to bring one supplemental researcher to accompany them on their visits and assist them on the same research project.

 

Members at the $250 level and above will also receive our custom all cotton canvas bag ($15.00 value).

 

Most importantly, all members will have the satisfaction of knowing that your support is vital to maintaining this wealth of historical data for the benefit of scholars, researchers, and the general public.

 

All researchers who wish access to our collection are required to be members of the of the Santa Bárbara Mission-Archive Library. Please contact us at research@sbmal.org directly if you have any questions.

SBMAL Hours: 

 

By appointment only: most Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Break from 12:00 p.m to 1:00 p.m for lunch.

Closed on federal holidays and other occasions.
