The Santa Bárbara Mission-Archive Library as a non-profit historical and educational institution depends on donations, grants, and Friends to cover staffing, conservation, and operation expenses. By becoming a Friend of the Archive-Library you support this important work. ​

How to Become a Friend

We welcome support from our Friends of the Archive-Library at all levels. We have designated levels of support, outlined below:

FRIENDS - Friendship starts with a gift of $50 a year.

GOOD FRIENDS - Our generous Good Friends support the Archive-Library with gifts of $100 a year. 

BEST FRIENDS - For those with the means to be truly generous in their support of the Archive-Library and can donate $500 a year. 

 

Want to be a Best Friend Forever (BFF)? All it takes in a one-time donation of $5,000!​

Rewards of Friendship 

All of our FRIENDS can access our collections for research purposes, attend many of our events for free or at a discount, as well as receive discounts on our services and merchandise. GOOD FRIENDS, BEFT FRIENDS, and BFFs can all bring a guest with them any time that they attend an Archive-Library event (with RSVP), or come to do research. Most importantly, all of our FRIENDS have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping with the vital work of maintaining this wealth of historical data for the benefit of scholars, researchers, and the general public.

The Santa Bárbara Mission Archive-Library is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization (Federal Tax ID# 95-6220730). Your contributions to the SBMAL are  tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Long-term Support 

Support the Archive-Library by contributing to our Annual Fund, Endowment Fund, or special projects. 

If you'd like to allocate your support of the Archive-Library to any of our specific funds or projects listed below, please email us at research@sbmal.org and we'll make a note of your intention. Otherwise we will consider your support part of our unrestricted funds, which allow us the most breadth in terms of usage.

The Annual Fund

This fund offers support where it is most needed to fulfill our mission to acquire, conserve, and make accessible historical cultural resources. Check out the different levels of contribution.

The Rosario Curletti Endowment Fund

Partner with us to build our permanent financial resources in honor of Ms. Rosario Curletti, who left a sizable bequest to provide permanent support for SBMAL and its mission. Find out how to remember SBMAL in your will or estate.
