Hear the Music of the California Missions!

Join SBMAL April 27th at 2:00 pm in Serra Hall as we celebrate the release of our newest publication, Music in the California Missions by Dr. Harmony Murphy, with a concert of the music of the Alta California missions!

The Mission Era saw the development of a unique style of music in California. This style blended the Franciscan friars' European musical training, the art and ingenuity of Native Californian musicians, and the resources and culture unique to each mission.

Dr. Murphy, author of Music in the California Missions, will lead the Reedley College Choir in a concert showcasing this truly unique Californian musical style.

Tickets are free for SBMAL members and $5 for non-members. To purchase tickets, please click on the button below.

Light refreshments will be provided.
